As per Variety, “The Palace” tells “the story of one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel.”

Along with Winslet and Grant, “The Palace” cast includes Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts (“Rust and Bone,” “Far from the Madding Crowd”) and English actress Andrea Riseborough (“Mandy,” “To Leslie”). Cesar-winning French actor-filmmaker Guillaume Galienne (“Me, Myself and Mum,” “The French Dispatch”) is set to play the husband to Winslet’s character. Martha Plimpton (“The Good Wife”) has been cast in an unknown role.

HBO is yet to share character names and descriptions for any cast member, so we’ll hopefully have more information soon. But with a stellar cast all around, “The Palace” viewers can expect nothing short of thrilling performances.

Winslet and Grant have other exciting projects in the pipeline. The actress will be seen in another HBO limited series called “The Trust,” an adaptation of Hernan Diaz’s novel of the same name. Grant, on the other hand, plays the villain Forge Fletcher in the highly-anticipated fantasy adventure film “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” scheduled to release on March 31 in cinemas.
